A 39-year old Information Communication Technology (ICT) expert, Oluseyi Olufade- Olowookere has joined the governorship race in Ogun State.
He is contesting the seat on the platform of Alliance for Democracy (AD).
Olufade-Olowookere who spoke at a press conference in Abeokuta, the state capital to declare his intention to run for the number seat of the state, said if elected he would prioritise the speedy payment of salaries, arrears, gratuities and pensions.
The Ladoke Akintola University graduate lamented the delay in payment of workers and pensioners entitlements, saying those who ensure continuity of governance should be given prompt attention.
He explained that the pensioners who were senior citizens of the state have served the state, hence they should be treated with dignity and respect.
He disclosed that his administration’s mission is to deploy simple governance principles, technology and innovation for growth and sustainability in all sectors of the state.
“I am a strong advocate of the delivery of maximum public value to the people through innovation, use of technology and simple governance policies.
“I have realised that all it takes is simple policies that can be sustained and implemented at the grassroots level to make Nigeria, and indeed Ogun state great. I offer this, a team-oriented style of leadership with energy and tenacity”
He added that if elected, he would build on the foundational structures of democratic governments of the state to date to develop it and make it preferred destination in the Western region of Nigeria “to invest, live and work”.
The Governorship aspirant said he would operate “bottom up” approach in governing the state if elected.
He said he would create 10,000 jobs for the youths as well as create structures that would help in empowering the women through Medium and Small Scale enterprises.
According to him, his government would also take the health care system of the state serious.
He commended all the past and incumbent Governors for developing the state, disclosing that there is more to be done.
“During our consultations across the state, we have felt the pulse of the people and we know what the issues are. We know that the real solution is one which the people contribute to.
” We will be responsive and accountable to the people and to the constitution of our great country. Together we will ensure every woman, child and male resident or visitor to any part of Ogun state has an evidential experience of a definite progression and wellbeing “.
