EPL club, Manchester United have agreed terms with want-away Arsenal star, Alexis Sanchez over his transfer to Old Trafford with the Chile international set to become the club’s highest earner on £500,000-a-week, the Daily Mail has reported.
The huge figure means Sanchez will take home about £14million each year – or £269,000 a week.
The report said Arsenal believe Henrikh Mkhitaryan will join them too as part of the deal, though the Armenian was at Carrington on Wednesday.
Mkhitaryan has not been happy with the way United have pushed him into leaving, even though he recognises that Arsene Wenger wants him in London and that he will likely gain more game time at Arsenal than he has enjoyed under Jose Mourinho.
The 29-year-old Sanchez is understood to have demanded around £500,000 a week at Manchester City, equating to £269,000 a week after tax.
United, which is the highest revenue earning club in the world, are happy to spend the money to recruit a player of Sanchez’s quality in this window and to snare him away from their City rivals, with Chelsea also backing away from matching the demands.
Arsenal believe Mkhitaryan will sign for their part of the transfer, with the 28-year-old likely to be given a settlement from United to boost his contract at the Emirates.
Jose Mourinho has cut a happy figure at United following the bid from United and was at Carrington on Wednesday with his representative Jorge Mendes and Ed Woodward as they go over the finer details of his own contract extension.
United remain in the market for further additions in the summer and will look to add Gareth Bale plus two midfielders and a full back.
Arsenal are pushing to complete a deal for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang also from Borussia Dortmund.
Sanchez was spotted in Mill Hill on Wednesday as he went to get his haircut at the Salon called The Stag.
ArsenalFanTV star Troopz bumped into the forward during his trip and shared a selfie of the pair via his Snapchat account.
