Dr. Smile Show has changed people’s perception about Abeokuta – Odunlade

It was an evening of  beautiful stage performances,  music and cracking of jokes recently in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital when Dr. Smile  Comedy show came to town.

The event, which was tagged “Dr. Smile unusual,” took place at the Marque hall of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) and had in attendance hottest comedians, comedienne as well as Nollywood actors and actresses   in the country who dished out jokes to the delight and admiration of the mammoth crowd.

The performers include Mr.  Latin, Odunlade Adekola, Gbenga Adeyinka (shine shine Bobo ), Seyi Law, the award winning comedian, Kenny Blaq,  Woli Agba, MC Bishop, Woli Arole, Hardvantage, Lepacious Bose, Gbenga Adeyinka (shine shine Bobo ) ,MC Reverse, Clever Jay, Kenny Blaq, Seyi Law among others.

The comedians expressed shock over the massive  turnout in the hall, with many of them saying that the show has come to stay in the rockcity.

Odunlade Adekola said the Dr. Smile show has changed people’s perception about Abeokuta,  insisting that Abeokuta is now part of happening cities in the country.

He said many socialites viewed the rock city as a civil servants state but the turnout has proved them wrong.

While speaking to Cityvoice, some Comedians urged the government to support entertainment industry.

Woli Arole said the government should make a budget for the entertainment industry most especially comedy shows.

“If you look outside the country, Hollywood, there is a budget for the movies they make and everything.” Arole. He further said that the government should create a platform that can screen their work and pay them for it.

Arole revealed that the comedy show has changed people’s perception  about Abeokuta, claiming he does not believe that comedy shows and entertainment in general could be appreciated in the city.

Also speaking, Kenny Blaq who said he felt surprised about the acceptance of the show, stated that comedy show is part of the ways  Nigerians feel relaxed after tedious work.

He therefore appealed to the government and well meaning Nigerians to sponsor Comedy shows.
