The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has said he would not relent towards working for the development of the State, insisting that he would work tirelessly till the 12pm of midnight of May 28 before his tenure expires on 29.
He disclosed this known during a world press briefing on the activities lined-up for this year’s African Drum Festival, with the theme: DRUMING FOR THE FUTURE held at Mitros hall, Ibara Housing Estate, Okelewo, Abeokuta.
He disclosed that nothing would distract his administration from achieving their set goals.
The Governor also maintained that sustaining the African Drum festival was part of his administration resolve to promote cultural heritage.
His words “‘I will work tirelessly to make Ogun State stand out among all the 36 States, I will fulfill all my promises.
”They thought the result of the governorship election will draw me back from continue working, they believed I will not fulfill all my promises but I will shock them that am going to work till the 12pm midnight of may 28.
On the African drum festival, he stated “I want to assure everybody that this year’s Festival will be bigger and better, we are partnerring with 26 States across the federation and some countries outside Nigeria will us attend the 2019 festival”
”When we started this festival in 2016, they thought we will not be able to continue, but I thank God this is the fourth edition, no administration has been able to achieve this”.
The governor also noted that the significance of Drums in people’s lives can not be undermined.
”There is no one who can deny that drums have not brought orderliness into his or her lives.”
