Kinsmen of the Finance Minister, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun have praised her effort in facilitating several multimillion naira development projects to the riverine community of Ayila town, Ogun Waterside local government council of Ogun State.
Some of the recent projects they praised the minister for included five blocks of classrooms, boreholes and the construction of the much-needed Ayede/ Ayila road, including a bridge.
A community leader, Mr Ajilotan Felix said the town has witnessed Federal Government presence in the community since the appointment of the daughter of the soil.
He revealed that this has brought progress and development to the town, saying she has fulfilled promises she made to her constituents.
Felix noted that Adeosun’s interest in building the capacity of residents of the area made her facilitate the construction of a block of five classrooms in Ayila.
He said Adeosun’s love for the village also prompted her to facilitate construction of Ayede to Ayila road by RCC Construction company, adding that a multi-million naira borehole has been completed to end the years of water scarcity experienced by the people.
The Finance Minister, according to Felix, has also ended the long years of pain suffered in crossing the body of water between Ayila and Okebi by building a bridge for them.
“From time immemorial, travelling to Okebi has been by boat; but as soon as Adeosun became the Finance Minister, she promised and helped build a good bridge on the water for us. Now, everybody goes to Okebi by vehicle or motorbike.
“From all of us here, I mean the entire people of Ayila, we are proud of the Minister, because we have began to feel relief from past years of difficulties resulted from lack of what I will referred to as social security. Roads in Ayila are now motorable, we have stable source of water through the borehole she dug for us. There are additional classrooms facilitated by her. So, we believe she is doing well.
“I want to emphasize that we are proud of our Kemi Adeosun – our sister, mother, granny, as good role model and diligent Ambassador.”, he said.
Another resident, simply identified as Afred, commended Adeosun and urged her to assist more in providing employment opportunity to Ayila youths as the town has produce good numbers of graduates who are unemployed.
He appealed to the Minister to use her office to get Ayila out of fifteen years of darkness by facilitating electricity to the town.
‘’Though we are feeling her impact, we need more. In the area of health, for example, the primary health care in Ayila does not have enough provision to care for the aged population,” he said. “We want to assure her of our prayers as she makes us proud as a good ambassador – an AYILAN”.
