Sensational reggae singer-songwriter and guitarist, Majekodunmi Fasheke popularly known as Majek Fashek is dead.
Though the cause of the music legend’s death is still unclear at the moment, reports indicated that he died in a hospital in New York in the late hours of Monday June 1.
Majek was a major star in the 80s before his career derailed after he left for the United States. His wife left him and his music failed after he got caught up in drugs.
He was brought home last year for rehabilitation but his health steadily became poor.
Some of his notable song include ”send down the rain,’ ”police brutality’ and a remake of Bob Marley’s ‘Redemption song.’
