In her quest to create a stress- free entry clearance for visitors to the Republic of Namibia, The High Commission in Abuja has commenced issuance of visa within two hours so far all the requirements are met.
This was disclosed by the Namibian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Peingeondjabi Titus Shipoh during an exclusive interview at the 12th edition of AKWAABA-African Travel Market Conference 2016 at Eko Hotel and Suites , Lagos.
“I can categorically tell you that we have commenced issuance of visa to travelers to Namibia within two hours if all the requirements are met,” he said.
When asked what could have informed such decision, he stated that lots of people travel from far places to Abuja to get visas only to be stranded for days and it took them a lot to stay around while waiting for their visa approval so it was done in the best interest of travelers according to the High Commissioner.
Dr. Shipoh, who is also the representative of Namibia to ECOWAS and Ambassador to Cameroon, Togo, Benin, Ivory coast and others, further disclosed that by next year, the National carrier of the country, Air Namibia will commence operation from Accra route – of which passengers would be picked up from Lagos to Namibia in order to honour the BASA agreement between the two countries.
“It may interest you to know that Nigeria has been a great ally of Namibia during the apartheid era during which many Namibians studied in various Nigerian institutions, one of whom is Dr Shipoh and host of others,” an official said..
