By Michael Adesanya/Abeokuta
Despite several challenges facing the development and progress  of Nigeria, the situation of the country is neither unsurmountable nor hopeless.
This was the submission of the Ogun State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Hammed Abodunrin at the Independence Day lecture organised by the State council of the NUJ in Abeokuta, the state capital.
He opined that the nation’s problems were self made and created by Nigerians, hence only Nigerians can find solution as well as rescue the country from collapse.
He however called for unity and cooperation from all and sundry, saying only collective efforts could take the country out of the woods.
Abodunrin stressed that true freedom from frivolities would make the country’s democracy work.
He said soon Nigerians will soon be enjoying the dividend of democracy.
The Chairman of the occasion and Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, (MAPOLY), Dr. Samson Odedina also said the country’s future is bright.
He added that the worried situations are just a stepping stones to the nation’s greater height.
Caretaker Chairman of the state, Kayode Taiwo said despite all odds, the country is still standing.
