The Squadron Commander of 16 Police Force Mopol in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Samuel Ijachi, has solicited more support for the Police.
Ijachi said without the people’s support, the police cannot succeed in its community policing of the society.
He spoke after he was conferred with the honour of Fellow of Institute of Criminal Justice and Criminology Administration (ICJCA) at his office in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on Monday.
The MOPOL Commander, who is referred to as “Mr. Restructural,” also called on well meaning Nigerians, corporate bodies and individuals to support the police with modern equipments to effectively combat crimes in the society, saying government cannot do it alone.
His words: ” Honestly, we (police) cannot do it alone, we need the people support to discharge our duties, without their support we cannot succeed in protecting lives and properties. Government also cannot do it alone, we need everybody support”.
On his award as certified criminologist, the police boss assured the Institute of his continuous upholding of the virtues of hardwork and uprightness in discharging his duty as a police offficer.
President of the governing council, Institute of Criminal Justice and Criminology Administration, Oba Gbadebo Bajowo said the Institute found Ijachi worthy of the award based on his sterling performances in recent times.
Oba Gbadebo, represented by Mr. Amusa Azeez, noted that since assumption of office of the commander, he has brought a lot of innovations into policing hence he needs to be encouraged so as to do more.
Chairman of G4 Media, media partner of ICJCA, Mr. Emmanuel Stephen commended the Squadron Commander for his professionalism and uprightness in discharging his duty.
