The Ogun State police Command on Saturday arrested one Onyebuchi Chika at Awa Ijebu area of the State for alleged burglary.
The police, in a statement issued by its Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspect was nabbed after a distress call was made to the Divisional Police officer in Awa ijebu by the victim and the police swiftly responded with the DPO and his men combing the area thoroughly.
Some of the stolen items he said were recovered from Chika included a sewing machine, two mattresses, cooking gas and some burglary instruments.
Oyeyemi said the suspect, on interrogation, confessed of being a serial burglar and that the students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye residing in the community are always his target.
In a related development, the policemen attached to Itele Ota division have arrested 17 suspected criminals.
The PRO said they were arrested after the police of the area raised their different hideouts.

Oyeyemi said the commissioner of police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the two cases to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation.
