Policemen have arrested three members of a five-man gang that raped a woman they lured to their base via a social media app.
The suspects, Sola Olaoluwa, 35; Ibrahim Kehinde, 19 and Lukman Banjoko, 20, according to a statement by the Command’s Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, were arrested following a complaint lodged at Ogijo police division area of Sagamu local government of the state by the victim.
The victim, Oyeyemi stated, reported that she met one man simply known as “Enny Money” who gave her an application to download on her phone with an assurance that those she will meet through the application would help her financially.
The woman stated that as soon as she downloaded the App, one man whom she later realized was the same “Enny Money” started chatting with her and invited her to Idimogun area of Ogijo.
Oyeyemi said when the victim got there, she was lured into a house where she was gang raped by five men who said they were members of one million boys gang.
The men forced the victim on gunpoint to have sex with them, as they took turns to rape her while one of the suspects was video- recording the violation
Oyeyemi said upon the report, the DPO Ogijo division, Muhammed Baba Suleiman dispatched his detectives to go after the hoodlums and bring them to justice,l.
The detectives initially succeeded in arresting two suspects, who then led the detectives to the third suspect, Lukman Banjoko last Monday.
On interrogation, Oyeyemi said, the suspects made confessional statements that they actually committed the crime as alleged by the victim, revealing that the victim was the second person they had gang raped in the area.
Recovered from them are one toy gun and one phone used for video recording.
The state Commissioner of Police, Edward A. Ajogun has ordered the transfer of the suspect to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for an indepth investigation and equally directed that the remaining members of the gang be hunted for and brought to justice.
