In view of the forthcoming Christmas and New year celebrations, the Ogun State Police Command as well as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence have assured residents of the state that both Commands had put in place a robust security arrangement in order to ensure hitch free Christmas and New year celebration.
Speaking separately to newsmen in Abeokuta, the State capital on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi and his NSCDC counterpart, Dyke Ogbonnaya said elaborate tactical as well as covert security operatives have been strategically deployed across the length and breadth of the State.
Oyeyemi said the command has a clear mandate of ensuring a crime free Christmas and New year celebration.
Oyeyemi said 24hrs surveillance patrols have been ordered around the various worship as well as event/recreation centers across the State.
He also appealed to members of the Public to alert the security agencies whenever/wherever they notice any strange/suspicious faces, gathering or movement in their domain in order to assist the security agencies to perform their duties to the optimal level, as security is everybody’s business.
Ogbonnaya said the agency has deployed his men to the black spots in the state, assuring that they are ready to combat any security threat.
