Tinubu, Akande, 5 governors grace Akeredolu’s inauguration

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and five state governors were part of a group of politicians present in Akure on Wednesday for the second term inauguration of Ondo Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

The state gvernors at the inauguration include: Godwin Obaseki (Edo); Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti); Gboyega Oyetola (Osun); Dapo Abiodun(Ogun) and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos).

Also at the inauguration were former Interim National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande; former Ogun Governor Sen. Ibikunle Amosun; former Senate President Ken Nnamani; new APC chieftain in Osun Sen. Iyiola Omisore and former National Vice Chairman (Southwest), APC Chief Pius Akinyelure.

Guests applauded the presence of Obaseki at the International Culture and Event Centre, Akure, venue of the inauguration.

Obaseki defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2020 election. Akeredolu is of the APC.

Obaseki’s defection followed his disqualification to contest for the governorship by the APC screening committee for the election.

Obaseki eventually won the election on the platform of the PDP.

Akeredolu assured that his administration will not depart from the trodden path which has earned him affection and deep reverence from the citizenry.

While noting that he came on board with the resolve to confront all challenges without let, Governor Akeredolu said even though his administration is yet to reach the set goal, he was confident that his administration is on the right path.

The Governor assured that he will continue, with more vigour, to justify the trust earned by his administration, with emphasis on energy as part of the reasons for the review.

“I wish to state that we have been reviewing these programmes since our victory at the last election with a view to achieving more improvement in service delivery.

“Thus in the next four years, we will be pursuing a totally repackaged programmes christened REDEEMED.

R-Rural and Agricultural Development E-Educational Advancement and Human Capital Development D-Development through Massive Infrastructure E-Efficient Service Delivery, Development and Policy Implementation E-Effective Healthcare and social welfare Services M-Maintenance of Law and Order for Adequate Security E-Energy, Mining and Sustainable Industries D-Digital Revolution and Entrepreneurship.”

The Governor reeled out the achievements recorded by his administration in the three senatorial districts of the state in the last four years while assuring that the ongoing projects will be completed soon.

He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his support and the national leaders of the party among several others.
