The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has denied any alleged involvement in an on going campaign against the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun, the state governor.

There is allegation that the Association was among those publicising alleged shortcomings of Abiodun’s administration.

But the National PRO of NANS, Mr Adeyemi Azeez in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, vehemently denied the allegation with a strong warning to any organization, individuals or groups propagating it to desist immediately.

The association recalled when it recently applauded the giant strides of the administration which, in less than two months into office, brought life back into two dying institutions in the state – the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY and Tai Solarin College of Education TASCE), Omu Ijebu.

Adeyemi Siad, “why would we then criticize the finger that feeds and fights for us? This question can only be answered by some secret enemies posing like friends of this government and firing arrows of discord.”

The statement reads in part: “We only fight when the need arises but instead of fighting this government, we would rather praise it, for its hands of friendship extended to both students and the managements of institutions in the state.”

The statement equally revealed that investigation had commenced to fish out those behind the publication, adding that at the conclusion of the fact finding, NANS shall publish the names of “those who stood in the dark and firing arrows of misinformation into the public

“Also for impersonating our association, we shall fight these evil ones and their financiers to a stand-still in our own ways at the end of our research.

“We want to state clearly that we, as an association, has no hand in that write up and will do no such thing facelessly – especially against a performing and promising Governor like Prince Dapo Abiodun.”
