Dare, recently described as the ‘first miracle son’ of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, is dead. He was 42.

Adeboye, who pastors one of the Eket branches of the RCCG, officiated on Sunday.

“He however asked not to be disturbed after getting home from church. He retired to his bedroom, slept but did not wake up, ” a source said.

According to insider sources, it was when his wife, Temiloluwa Adeboye, noticed her husband’s unusual sleeping hours and could not reach him on phone that she raised the alarm and he was discovered dead. The younger Adeboye was neither sick nor on medication when the tragic incident happened.”

When Dare marked his 42nd birthday in June last year (he would have been 43 in June 2021), Pastor Adeboye described him as his first miracle child.

He wrote on his Facebook page:

“Our first miracle child. We pray that God will keep his miraculous working power in your life and all those who needs a miracle today, will use you as a point of contact for their own in JESUS name. (Amen) love from Dad, Mom and the whole Adeboye dynasty.”

Confirming the sad development, one of the top shots in the RCCG family, said: “Shock. Disbelief. Tears. Thanksgiving. Praise. Total submission to the will of God. Pastor Dare’s death is painful, unexpected, but who dares question God?”

The church, in a statement confirming the death, asked that the family be granted privacy.

The statement reads:

”It is with a deep and heartfelt sense of loss, we announce the departure of our beloved son, brother, husband and father, Oluwadamilare Temitayo Adeboye. Who went to be with the Lord on the 4th of May, 2021.

His life was well lived as he served the Lord without reserve, giving effortlessly and leading fearlessly. He was crowned by the Lord with blessings of 3 seeds and a beautiful wife.

Though shaken, our anchor remains Jesus Christ in whom we have the assurance that we will one day meet in a place where there is no pain.

It is the wish of the family to be granted privacy at this moment and that prayers be offered on their behalf.

Oluwadamilare Temitayo Adeboye, June 9th 1978 – May 4th 2021.
Remain forever in our heart”.

President Buhari meanwhile sent a condolence meesage to the Adeboye family. The message, contained in a statement issued by Femi Adesina, reads:

“President Muhammadu Buhari extends deepest sympathies to the family of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on the passing of his son, Pastor Dare Adeboye.

“Also commiserating with members of the RCCG on the demise of the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35, President Buhari urges them to find comfort in the teachings of the Holy Scriptures that those who have chosen to serve God faithfully will see Him as He is in eternity.

“The President prays God Almighty to grant the departed rest in His everlasting kingdom and comfort grieving family, friends and associates.”
