The maiden public lecture of penpushing social media network has started in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The Chairman Planning Committe, Olufunke Fadugba, a former chairperson of the Lagos State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, said the lecture with the theme,’Building Parameters for Trust to Achieve Political and National Growth’ is to be delivered by former vice-chancellor, University of Lagos, Prof Oye Ibidapo-Obe.
She also disclosed that a journalism icon, Prof Idowu Sobowale is the Chairman of the occassion,while traditional ruler of Akinale in Owu kingdom is the royal father of the day.
The committee boss also disclosed the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and some past civilian and miitary governors, including Chief Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Commodore Kayode Olofinmoyin are fathers of the day.
Fadugba also stated that about 500 participants, which include 256 members of the platform would be in attendance at the event scheduled to hold at marquee events centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Llibrary.
Wife of former President, Mrs Bola Obasanjo and Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief(Mrs) Alaba Lawson are mother of the day, while number of professional bodies, as well as academic institutions and security organisations have also signified interest to attend.
Fadugba also listed discussants to include; Dr Niran Malaolu (founder Rockcity FM); Barrister Benjamin Ogunmodede, Tope Adaramola (Chairman, NIPR,Ogun State) and Chris Nwandu (President, Nigeria Association of Professional Bloggers.)
Others are; Prof Tope Popoola (university don), Samuel Ogunjemiluwa (Heads Electoral Operations, INEC),Peju Osoba,(an NGO expert) Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello, Toun Okewale (Founder,1st Women Radio in Africa) and Sarafa Ishola (former Minister).
