Former Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Dare Kadiri has described his removal as grossly unconstitutional and illegal.
His words: “I just received the news of my purported impeachment based on the report of an ad-hoc committee set up by the Ogun State House of Assembly. The development, to say the least, was grossly unconstitutional and illegal”.
On the next line of action for him, he said: “However, I have initiated consultation with my lawyers to fashion out the best possible way to address this infraction. I urge my teeming supporters, constituents and members of my political party in Ijebu North II State Constituency to remain calm as the issues that threw up this unwarranted action are sorted.
“In whatever capacity I find myself now or in the future, I remain committed to the ideals of a functional legislature, tenets of democracy and good governance”.
Also reacting, a member of the house representing Ijebu North 1 on the platform of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Abiodun Sylvester described Kadiri’s impeachment as kangaroo process.
His words: “I believed we are one and what just happened shows that we are not one again. I termed it kangaroo process. The house have standing orders.
“We always have executive meeting before plenary but today we didn’t have it, to me it is predetermined issue. It will go on the record what the 9th assembly just done. Posterity will judge us.
“What will you want me to tell my people because we come from the same local government. It is very unfortunate”.
